Elections

Elections take place in the Students' Union twice per academic year. This is your chance to vote for the students who you think should represent you and the college, on all things from activities and enrichment, to academic representation.

The students who are elected to be President and Vice President are paid to represent you, working in our Students' Union Office part time, whilst they continue their studies. They are elected each Spring Term. This year has been a bit different because we were unable to hold our Spring Elections due to lockdown, so instead asked our President, Vice President and Executive Officers which of them would like to continue in their positions, to represent you this academic year.

The President and Vice President are supported by a team of elected officers, who volunteer their time to represent students on different issues.

These are:

  • Disabled Students Officer
  • Higher Education Officer
  • Student Voice Officer
  • LGBTQ+ Officer
  • Women's Officer
  • Fundraising Officer
  • BAME Officer
  • Vice Presidents for each centre (Arts Centre, Clarence St, Duke St, Vauxhall Rd, and the Learning Exchange)

Each Executive Officer role also has an elected Deputy.

These roles are usually elected in the Autumn Term. Information about the roles and how to nominate yourself  and find out more about the roles and how to apply - SU Executive Role Profiles
