Clubs and Societies

Clubs and societies are set up for students and by students to meet new people and share common interests.

If you can't see a club or society that you would like to join then fill in our 'Start a club or society form', available on our Resources page.

Liberation Societies

Liberation means freedom of oppression. At CoLCSU we aim to support our diverse students who self-define into the different liberation groups to unite and act against the shared oppression facing students in the UK and beyond.

We believe that all students should feel a sense of belonging and acceptance for who they are. Individuals should feel liberated and empowered to campaign against the discrimination faced around students' identities through participation, achievement, retention and progression in education.

Our Liberation Societies are here to empower individuals by being activists, which frees students from barriers, increases participation and engagement and maintains equality.

Liberation Societies include:

  • LGBTQ+
  • BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic)
  • Disabled Students Society
  • Women's Society
