The City of Liverpool College Students’ Union has committed to being and encouraging others to be more sustainable. We are working with the College, staff and students to make improvements in how the College operates, how we manage our events and the projects that we deliver. We are currently working towards our Bronze NUS Green Impact award and the College is using this as a template for its Sustainability Policy.
As a Union we have implemented the following initiatives –
GREEN IMPACT – is a framework that helps us improve sustainability in the College and Students’ Union. It is run by the National Students’ Union and we can gain accreditation for the sustainability work we do.
GROW! – volunteering opportunities to help maintain the community garden we have built at Duke St Campus, on Cornwallis St and visit other community gardens
Bee You – a bee keeping project, working with Blackburne House delivering a Lantra Level 1 Bee Keeping qualification to enable you to help us look after our bee hives.
Whatever! – Social Enterprise pop-up cafe using surplus food to provide healthy pay-as-you-feel meals to staff, students and the public.
Our Jar – Preserve making enterprise run by students.
