Student Advocate Scheme

Student Advocates are current students at the college who support other students who need help getting their voice heard. The role of the student advocate is to provide support to individual students who feel that they have been unfairly treated by the College. The aim of such support is to ensure students’ rights are upheld, their views heard and respected and that they have fair and equal access to sources of support. The advocate will support students to represent their views in their time of need.

A student advocate may be required to support students in such circumstances as:

  • Formal Student Complaints processes
  • Failure of the College to meet Standards as set out in the Student/HE Student Charter
  • Appeals related to the Student Disciplinary Process, Assessment and Academic Malpractice
